LDT Dance Wear Drive for Harvey Victims

Dear LDT and Orange County friends and Families,

In the wake of the destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey, Laguna Dance Theatre is organizing a Dance Wear Drive to help the studio owners and families who have lost everything. Please drop off clean, new or gently used dancewear; including but not limited to tights, shoes, leotards, hair supplies (new only please), recital costumes, etc. Please bring them in plastic bags or boxes.
 
Drop off Saturday September 9th between 9am and 1pm to the front desk. Items will be sorted and sent to a local host Houston dance studio and distributed to other studios in the area in need.
 
*Donations to help pay shipping costs are greatly appreciated. Any Volunteers to help promote, sort, or ship welcome!! Any specific questions can be directed to Miss Marisa.
 
Thank you for helping us support the dancing families who’ve lost so much.

Junior Ballet Intensive

Our Junior Intensive will give young dancers the opportunity to build a stronger foundation.

Curriculum: Ballet Technique, Variations, Stretching, Jazz, Contemporary, Stage Makeup, Acting, Yoga, and Dance History.

We will have Parent Observation, and a short presentation on the last day of this program.

Ballet I

Tuesdays & Thursdays 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Ballet II

Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Welcome to our Spring Semester at Laguna Dance Theatre!

Laguna Dance Theatre has been serving Orange County since 1985. LDT is a Vaganova ballet theatre with primary focuses on pre-professional training and technique.

We offer a strong classical Ballet training program along with Jazz, Lyrical, Broadway Jazz, Tap, Pilates, Hip Hop and Musical Theater for ages 2 to adult. Care is given to the developing physique of each dancer to forestall injury and maximize progress. Along with strong classical technique, artistry and expression are emphasized throughout the training process.

LDT Competition Team at Star Systems

Congratulations to the LDT 2017 Competition Team! What a great showing at our first competition of the season– Star Systems in Downey. LDT was well represented on all levels, from our first timers to our seasoned dancers. You all shined! Our biggest accomplishment this weekend was our Large Group “Sticks & Stones” taking FIRST OVERALL – creating some major waves among several other competitive studios.

Laguna Dance Festival Audition

Calling all LDT Dancers ages 13+!

Open auditions for youth dancers to perform at the LDF Annual Spring Gala, Friday, June 2, 2017. More info here.

Auditions may be submitted between April 1st-April 15th only.
Submit your 1 minute video audition sample to:
sweetestpea33@yahoo.com.

Requirements: Ages 13-21, male & female. Aspiring professional with classical training/technique- all dance styles.

Dancers chosen will receive:
-Complimentary admission to 1 LDF Master Class
-2 Complimentary tickets to a company performance during the September 2017 Laguna Dance Festival.
-1 Gala ticket, for youth dancer’s parent to attend.
-Letter of acknowledgment from LDF Founder, Jodie Gates.

Master Class with Christine Shevchenko, ABT Soloist

Ms. Shevchenko is dancing at the Segrestrom Center for the Arts, performing in ABT’s upcoming premier of Whipped Cream.

Christine will hold a Master Class at LDT this Sunday, March 19th from 1:00-3:00 PM.

It is a huge honor to have her back again as she taught our students last year at our Summer Intensive.

$30 per LDT (level 4/5/6) student with reservation and payment by Friday, March 17th.

$35 per student at the door

$35 for non-LDT students (high intermediate/advanced level).
